As we age, our skin care needs change. Mature skin needs more attention, time, and devotion to fight the aging process than younger skin, and requires a great deal more care. If you truly want to restore a youthful glow to your skin, there are things you can try to reverse the process, and they work. More importantly, there are ingredients in which you can use on a daily basis that will allow you to look and feel noticeably healthier skin. Vine Vera Skincare would like to offer you some advice on the different types of ingredients you can and should be using every day to give your skin a healthy appearance and fight the aging process for those with mature skin.
Retinol is a Vitamin A derivative that works to combat fine lines, wrinkles, skin spots –either from the sun, or from age – and it works by boosting skin cell regeneration and the time it takes between formation and regeneration of new skin cells. It is best used at night, and is dermatologist recommended for any mature woman’s skin to help curb looking older. There are many products on the market containing Retinol, and by experimenting with different brands and products, you can find the one that works best for you. It should be used after cleansing and before applying a good, thick moisturizing cream.
While you probably didn’t see this one coming, sunscreen contains imperative ingredients for mature skin. The skin, as we age, is more susceptible to sun damage and skin cancer, and any type of exposure to the sun requires a good sunscreen. Many daily facial moisturizers contain SPF properties, and are imperative to fight aging and even to help reverse the effects of aging. You should always opt for a 30 SPF or higher when buying bottles of sunscreen, and always be sure to apply it to any and all areas of the skin which are to be exposed to the sun. Opt for a brand such as La Roche Posay, which is a fabulous sunscreen and perfect for mature skin.
By infusing your skin every morning with antioxidants, you will help to repel wrinkles, spots and potentially even skin cancer. You could eat antioxidant rich berries, such as blueberries, in your morning cereal which would be fantastic for overall skin and body health, but by actually incorporating products containing antioxidants topically to the skin, you are giving yourself a one up as these components will absorb directly and work where they are supposed to. Look for products containing Vitamin C, green tea, or pomegranate for the ultimate in Antioxidant protection.
Products containing glycolic acid, which is a form of alpha-hydroxy acid, are potent enough to snuff out wrinkles, smooth out lines, and help other anti-aging components applied to the skin penetrate the skin quicker and work more effectively. Opt for a glycolic acid peel, and you will be sure to have refreshed and rejuvenated skin in no time. Be sure not to overuse any type of alpha hydroxy acid or you could end up damaging your skin. Once per week is enough.
