Ah, the benchmark ages. Sure, every age is another notch in the belt, but there is something about hitting those multiples of ten that really make us take account of where we are in life. If you’re less than excited about turning fifty, well, you know what they say, misery loves company, and, while you may be down in the dumps, it looks like you’re in some pretty good company. Let’s take a look at some of the celebrities hitting the five-o benchmark this year, and not seeming too bothered about it at all.
Fast, furious and fifty, Vin Diesel is in the prime of his life! Vin, nee Marc Sinclair, is best known for his role as Dominic Toretto in the “Fast and Furious” film series and is also a producer for this and other franchises. Formerly linked to “F and F” co-star Michelle Rodriguez, Vin is now happily settled. He and current partner, Mexican model Paloma Jimenez, are proud parents to Hania Riley, Vincent Sinclair and daughter Pauline, named in honor of fallen “F and F” alum, Paul Walker. He is also godfather to Walker’s daughter, Meadow Rain.
If you’re going to turn fifty, there’s not a much better guy to do it with than Will Ferell. From his riotous impressions of George W. Bush on Saturday Night Live to his hilarious portrayal of Ron Burgundy in “Anchorman 1 and 2,” there are not many people who can say they’ve had as much of an impact on the world of comedy as Will Ferrell. Married to Swedish actress Viveca Paulin, Ferrell is the father of children Magnus, Mattias, and Axl and is the recipient of two Emmy awards for his work on SNL and as a sketch comedy producer for “Drunk History.”
From his first high-profile role as Kenny “Pig Vomit” Rushton in Howard Stern’s private parts.to “Sideways” to “American Splendor” to ” Love and Mercy” to “Downton Abbey,” there is no movie starring Paul Giamatti that he has not done justice to. Residing in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York Giammati is married to Elizabeth Cohen with whom he raises a son, Samuel, born in 2001. A Yale graduate, Giamatti is a two-time Golden Globe and Emmy Award recipient, and currently stars in the Showtime series, “Billions.”
When it comes to tough guys, it doesn’t get much smoother than Jason Statham. The Derbyshire English native, often playing the beloved antihero, is best known for his roles, in “Snatch,” ” The Expendables,” and ” Fast and Furious 6 and 7.” While a tough guy in movies, Statham is quite the ladies man off screen. After his relationship with model Kelly Brook fizzled out in mid-2000, Statham has been dating model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley since 2010. They announced their engagement in 2016 and are currently expecting their first child.
Turning 50? Who are you most happy to be doing it with? Whether it’s a celebrity or otherwise, we hope you have some pretty good company on this benchmark occasion!
