French Paradox key to anti-aging

The French Paradox: The Benefits of Resveratrol

In the early 1990s, the popular news series 60 Minutes investigated the phenomena known as the French Paradox. This term describes the relatively low rate of coronary heart disease among the French population, even though the people there are known for eating a diet that includes a high amount of fatty foods, particularly dairy and meats such as butter, red meat and various high-cream cheeses like brie. This causes a paradox, as often fatty foods high in saturated fats that are found in dairy and meat are held responsible for higher cholesterol, clogged arteries and other health problems here in the United States.

It turns out that red wine, which is a commonplace beverage in the overall French diet, contains a powerful antioxidant known as Resveratrol that is found in the skins of red grapes. Many scientists believe that Resveratrol is one of the reasons that the French have a relatively low rate of heart disease as compared to the United States, which doesn’t feature red wine as heavily in our diets. Find out more about the powerful antioxidant Resveratrol by watching this segment from 60 Minutes below:

The French Paradox is constantly being researched by scientists across the globe, so there are plenty of other discoveries to be had for this phenomenon. But there is no denying the power of this antioxidant and the benefits you can receive by adding it into your daily routine.

Resveratrol doesn’t only work to help your health on the inside of your body, though. It is also vital for you health on the outside for healthy skin and keeping your appearance younger looking and radiant. Skin care lines such as Vine Vera specially infuse their products with Resveratrol so this powerful antioxidant can be applied topically to the skin, helping reduce the signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines.
